Hi, I’m Cody.

I’ve been cutting, crafting, and animating stories for nearly two decades - the majority of those years working inside the fast-paced world of advertising. For the past several years I've been a freelance videographer, editor, and motion designer, offering mobility, flexibility and reliability to companies who need to offer an array of video services to their clients, but may not be staffed to do so. I’ve worked on everything from national broadcast campaigns to scrappy social spots, CPG ads, web films, and content built to live on everything from phone screens to big screens.

I can step in at any point in the process - filming on set, shaping the edit, building motion graphics, or polishing the final details that make the work sing. Years in the agency world trained me to balance speed with craft, collaboration with independence, and creativity with strategy.

But before advertising, there was music.

I’ve been playing in bands since my late teens - writing, recording, and touring across the country. That experience shaped how I approach storytelling: rhythm matters, pacing matters, and emotion always wins. Editing, to me, feels a lot like producing a song. You build it layer by layer until it hits just right.

I’m also a longtime projectionist for international film festivals, helping screen films at events like the Telluride Film Festival and festivals here in Minneapolis-St. Paul. Being behind the scenes of so many powerful stories reminds me why I got into this in the first place.

When I’m not behind a camera or on top of a timeline, you’ll probably find me at home with my two feline supervisors, or traveling overseas with my partner. We try to explore somewhere new whenever we can - new places, new food, new perspectives.
